Technical Requirements for Manuscripts

Authors should ensure that:

• The work is original and authored by them.

• Proper citations and permissions are included when using external content.

• No privacy or intellectual property rights are infringed.

• The data presented is authentic and unaltered.

• Any conflicts of interest are disclosed at submission.

• Ethical research guidelines are followed, particularly for studies involving human or animal subjects.

• Errors found before or after publication are promptly communicated to the Editor.

• Authorship is accurately represented, ensuring that all credited individuals have contributed meaningfully.

Transparency is paramount—if uncertain about originality (e.g., potential duplicate publication), authors should consult the journal editor.

Authorship Guidelines

A manuscript’s authorship must include all individuals who:

1. Made a substantial contribution to the study’s design, data acquisition, or analysis.
2. Drafted or critically revised the manuscript for intellectual content.
3. Approved the final version for publication.
4. Accept accountability for all aspects of the work.

Acquiring funding, collecting data, or supervising a research team alone does not qualify for authorship; such contributors should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. Please refer to the ICMJE Authorship Guidelines for more details.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author serves as the primary point of contact during submission, peer review, and publication. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all required documentation (e.g., ethics approval, conflict of interest declarations) is completed.
• Signing the publishing agreement on behalf of all authors.
• Remaining available for post-publication inquiries or data requests.

Third-Party Submissions

If a third party submits a manuscript on behalf of the authors, a statement must be included in the Acknowledgments and cover letter, disclosing:

• The editorial assistance provided (including the individual’s name, company, and role).
• Any financial sponsorship for the assistance.
• Confirmation that all listed authors approved the submission and related declarations.

EPH reserves the right to reject manuscripts submitted by third parties without explicit author authorization.
